You’ll see the main sights of Kiev: monument to the Legendary Founders of Kiev (Lad’ya), the Mariinsky Park and Palace, Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence square), Mihajlovsky Cathedral, Andreevsky Descent and Andreevsky church, Sofia Cathedral (without visiting), Golden Gate, Kiev Opera Theatre, the main street – Khreschatyk and others.

This tour is one of the most popular, as it gives an opportunity to see not only the main sights of Kiev, but also to visit the Ortodox shrine Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
Then we will visit magnificent monument “Motherland”, holding a sword and shield and Great Patriotic World War II Museum, which is located on a hill, clearly visible from almost all parts of the city. Near the open-air museum you will see exhibits of the Soviet tanks that were used during World War II and the postwar years, as well as other vehicles, artillery. Another sight is Park of Glory – a memorial complex, situated on the slopes of the Dniper. From here a wonderful view on the left bank of Kiev. There you can take a great panoramic picture of Kiev. The heart of the park is a 26-meter high stele – a monument of the Unknown Soldier, established in 1957. Recently, in 2008, the park opened another famous monument – the monument to the victims of Holodomor of 1932-33. We will finish our tour walking through cozy and shady Mariinsky park moving down to the main square of Kiev – Independence square, finishing our tour on the main street – Khreschatyk.

Optionally: Water Museum, one of the most unusual museums in Kiev, located in an old water tower (on the territory of the Mariinsky park). Its ingenious built exposition tells about the water cycle. Here you can, immersed into the ground, make a “journey” by continents: see how ice melts, geysers erupt, visit the cave with stalactites. In the museum you can even get into a real rain with thunder and be inside a huge bubble.

We’ll see Golda Meier memorial plaque on the house where she used to live with her family and the monument to the great Yiddish writer, Sholom Aleichem – author of “Fiddler on the Roof” as well as many other bittersweet tales of Ukrainian shtetl life.
