This tour is dedicated to military issues, in particular the Great Patriotic War. During the tour you will visit the Park of Glory – a memorial complex,situated on the slopes of the Dniper. From here a wonderful view on the left bank of Kiev. The heart of the park is a 26-meter high stele – a monument of the Unknown Soldier, established in 1957. Recently, in 2008, the park opened another famous monument – the monument to the victims of Holodomor of 1932-33. Then we will visit magnificent monument “Motherland”, holding a sword and shield. Next to it, there is Great Patriotic World War II Museum, which is located on a hill, clearly visible from almost all parts of the city. Near the open-air museum you will see exhibits of the Soviet tanks that were used during World War II and the postwar years, as well as other vehicles, artillery. Next stop is Babiy Yar – a site of massacres carried out by German forces and local collaborators during their campaign against the Soviet Union. It is the world’s Holocaust memorial, the most tragic in Kiev, as a kind of reminder of the anti-human crimes of the Nazis.
